What are the advantages of art leasing?
Leasing artwork offers valuable benefits for both individuals and businesses. For individual collectors, it provides access to stunning, limited-edition, signed pieces that would typically require a significant upfront investment. Leasing allows payments to be spread over months, making fine art more affordable and accessible.
For businesses, leasing may offer potential tax advantages, further enhancing its cost-effectiveness while fostering an engaging atmosphere for employees with rotating high quality work. Leasing provides the flexibility to refresh artwork periodically, allowing individual collectors and businesses to adapt their spaces to new styles and preferences.
What are the tax savings advantages for my business if I lease art rather than purchase it?
Business owners can expense the full value of a lease against the profits of the business, reducing the income on which they would pay taxes, similar to the lease paid on office space or equipment. Depending on the business owner's tax bracket, this could result in a significant savings. Since tax benefits vary by situation, business owners should consult a tax professional to ensure they maximize their potential savings and comply with tax regulations.
How does leasing art work?
The client enters into a lease agreement and commits to a monthly payment based on their selected artwork. Lease terms range from 12 to 60 months, offering flexibility to fit various budgets, with an annual lease factor of 9%. Once the agreement is in place, Jackson Art Properties ships the chosen pieces to the client, and monthly payments are automatically deducted from a bank account or credit card for a smooth and stress-free experience.
Will I own the artwork at the end of the lease?
At the end of the lease term, the client has the option to purchase the artwork with one final monthly payment. Once this payment is made, the client owns the artwork outright with no further obligations.
Can I buy the artwork versus leasing?
Yes. All the artwork is for sale and the client may choose to own it by making one payment at the time of purchase.
What happens if I no longer want to lease the artwork or stop making the lease payments?
The lease agreement is a legally binding contract for the entire lease term. If a client stops making payments, the full remaining balance will become due once the lease is past due. To ensure clarity and confidence in their commitment, clients are encouraged to thoroughly review the lease agreement and ask any questions before signing.
